Lightning bloody well strikes the same place twice

Its 3 in the afternoon, blazing hot outside(40 deg C) and I am stuck in front of my laptop reading random blogs and trapping all unfortunate ppl who are online into chatting with me.
Welcome to what promises to be my schedule for everyday the next 2.5 months.
I feel kinda wierd in my legs...rather i dont feel anything at all in them. But what else can i expect but numb feet if i have been sitting like this ever since i got up(a good 5 hrs ago).
(Not) talking of other things, what do you think engg students in chnai have in common at this time of the year every year?(apart from them being engg. students and having sumthing in common, that is) No prizes for correct guesses. Since I am bored to death(i hope i have made myself clear on that) and i remebered to take my laptop along when i got buried(yes i am christian), here i am blogging you ppl from my coffin.
India was playing Bangladesh today..i noticed today morn that the BCCI has some more astuteness and foresight more than we give them credit for. They signed up for this series in bangla even before the WC strongly suggesting that they knew that the trip to windies would result in a debacle and wanted the team to come "back to form" and hence a visit to the minnows. What they didn't expect was that we'd struggle against even bangladesh..god only knows how the public would react if they screw up this series..the least we can expect is that the BCCI will be a closed and forgotten chapter in Indian cric history. But that wasn't why i brought this up; the reason was that i was flipping through the tv channels and..lo behold, the match was being played on raj tv?! complete with live tamil commentary. I watched it for some hour(man, cricket has never been greater fun! :) ) just for the commentary..it was hilarious! I dont think the commentator knew more about cricket than me(and that translates as almost not a single thing) but they had picked him for his extensive tamil vocab(or creativity- he kept on coming up with words i didnt even know existed). What he didnt know in terms of cricket, he compensated with philosophical interjections and poetic comparisions(he was comparing gambhir's backlift(i think) with the wing-flappings of some wierd and either extinct or as yet undiscovered bird-do i need to say anymore?). On the whole he was like a cross between vairamuthu and vadivel and the raj enterprises have hit upon the perfect formula to make cric entertaining(that is if you aren't sadistic by nature and are entertained by the sight of india losing effortlessly-india struggling to win in succession). Keep up the good work, ppl!
Btw, i went to sathyam on thursday evening..after a lot of delibrations, to that blind date thingy that they play there once a week.(If you havent ben in chnai for the last year, you probably dont know that some jobless dumbass(sounds like someone i know) came up with this concept of playing a movie with no one in the audience knowing what it'll be until they actually see it. A lot of the cinema-goers, however, failed to appreciate his creative genius in naming this the 'blind date' and bought tickets expecting to see a romance flick..resulting in some ugly scenes) Now i say delibrations(you'd have probably forgotten..so scroll back some 4-5 lines up) because when i went for this show last december with some friends, they played a hindi movie(omg) called I C U(omg squared!) (i am skipping the inevitable movie review coz if i start i dont think i'll finish this post..so when i say i hav strong feelings about this show, just accept me at face value and dont argue). Now these friends of mine said they generally dont play hindi movies, that lightning never strikes the same place twice and all such balderdash..and the result- me sitting there in studio 5 at 7 pm on thursday olivious of the horror in store for me. The usual ads(ther was a new one this time; some nathella thingy..remind me to tell you about it), the credits and then:"LIFE IN A METRO"(ok..not so bad)..starring Shilpa Shetty and Dharmendra..and i burst into tears(of anger). The manager(or whatever he's supposed to be) was watching, i guess, because he hurried in and asked the proj guy to stop and announced that since it was yr since they started playing this show at sathyam, all of us would get free popcorn and coke for enduring the movie. Slightly mollified i managed to get the better of my emotions. I'll spare you a complete recital of my misery and suferings for the next 3 hrs(it was bollywood movie..what else would you expect). Srinivas who's watched more hindi movies than i(about a 117 more) told me that it was decent by bollywood standards. I just hope that i am not made to watch anything that is bad by bolywoood standards..the mere thought gives me the shivers(in summer in chnai..so thats saying something).
If i ever get to lay my hands on the fellow who said lightning never strikes the same place twice...

hey i think i'm buried adjacent to ur grave cos i can hear the ramblings of ur rustic mind! ;-) god has a weird sense of humor! wait... that was meaningless... i don believe in god. bah! who cares... i'm so jobless i'd start believing in Him also i guess. seems a bit paradoxical that college shud be more fun than home... but on 2nd thot it isn so mysterious. since i'm a diehard (non)fan of cricket i'll refrain from commenting on the Bungling Committee of Cricket India (u kno wat i'm talkin abt)... i'm not much of a bollywood buff either (owing to the fact that i dunno any hindi except the legendary "thumara naam kya hai" altho i shud say that 1 year in iit has greatly improved my understanding skills if not my oratorical ones) btw... was the movie I C U abt a hospital or somethin???! ;-) i'm getting into this cool habit of starting a blog in a comment... i'll get around to writing my own soon. till then kindly bear with me ;-) anyway... dude u shud check out the friday review b4 going on a blind date... u can find out which movies r debuting & guess which one will be more likely to release in satyam. i tried it onc or twice wen they first intro the idea... it worked. i didnt actually go to the movie. jus read abt it the next day in the papers ;-) fortunately... cos 1 was a tamil movie. aw f**k! i seem to be stealing ur thunder (rather lightning [hope it doesn strike me twice!!])... soon ppl will be reading my comments than ur blog eh? ;-) don worry i'll write my own soon (soon==indeterminate interval of time) so i'll sign off now...
